CAPTAIN RENEE BRESCIA
Renee has been boating throughout her entire life
aboard boats of all sizes and shapes, and sailing since 1994, starting aboard a
22 foot sloop. She has sailed aboard boats as crew and captain on vessels from
18 ft day sailors to tug boats, tour/research boats and 200 ft tall ships in
waters of the Great Lakes, Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay, Bermuda and the
US & British Virgin
Islands. She has worked aboard various charter boats in Bermuda,
Florida & New York, has been
teaching sailing for 8 years and is an ASA Certified Instructor. Renee also
captains "The Haendel" on Cayuga Lake for
Tiohero Tours. Her passion for sailing is
highly
contagious... watch out! Renee has lived aboard and traveled aboard various
sail and power boats during most of her life, traveling over 10,000 miles as
captain and crew, she brings a family history and lifelong love for the sea with her into teaching
on the water.
As founder of the Women's Sailing Connection, a
worldwide group for sailing women, Renee has found a way to bring women sailors together within her local
community in the Finger Lakes and around the world, now gathering members from
several countries and over 18 states in the US.
