Everyone wants to be able to sleep better at night, stay calm in the face stress, and be happy all the time. However, the question then must be asked if it is possible to get it from a pill.</p>
<p>What many of these pills do is alleviate the symptoms of stress without actually working on the mind itself. For example, they may lower blood pressure that raises when agitated. It may be a<span id="more-12"></span> sedative that prevents you from getting too angry. It does not make you handle the stress better. It simply reduces the side effects of the stress, which may be what some people want.</p>
<p>Other pills may just be placebos. What this means is that the pills actually do nothing but since you expect them to work, they do.</p>
<p>When it boils down to it, these pills may be able to provide a little bit of relief, but only if you are willing to put in some effort. They are not magical pills that will make stress disappear. One of the things that you can do to reduce your stress is to simplify your schedule.  There are some tasks that have to be taken care of right now, but others can wait.  You should not hesitate to schedule some of your tasks for another day.</p>
<p>You also need to try<span id="more-11"></span> to get some exercise in every day. Exercise helps alleviate stress by releasing endorphins, which are also known as the bodyâ€™s feel good hormones. You do not have go to the gym to exercise. You can go for a walk before you go to work or during your lunch break. You can also ride your bike to the store instead of driving. Thirty minutes is the minimum amount of exercise that you should try to get per day.</p>
<p>Additionally, you should spend a couple of minutes listening to music every day. Studies have shown that music can be a great stress reliever.</p>

<p>You can basically give yourself a massage from head to toe.  Massaging your scalp with your fingertips is a relaxing way to start.  Then move down to you face and temples taking the time to rub your sinuses as well.  This can help to open them up.  If you<span id="more-10"></span> spend time in front of a computer all day, your eyes may be tired as well.  If you gently rub them with a finger, it will help to soothe them as well.</p>
<p>Move down to your arms giving the muscles within them a gentle squeeze.  Rubbing your stomach, especially after a meal will also help with your normal digestion.  Then gently squeeze the muscles within your legs as well.  Another great way to massage your legs is to take a tennis ball and roll it along all of the muscles in your legs.  This will work well with your feet as well.  Lastly, make sure that you give your hand a gentle rubbing.</p>

Go to a dark room, lie down and put on some relaxation music. Concentrate starting at your head and mentally working down your body tensing up and then relaxing each part. This is called progressive relaxation. It can make you aware of the contrast between tension and relaxation. <br />

You must breathe from your abdomen, getting as much air in your lungs as possible. It is important to sit straight up while doing this to get maximum airflow. It is a good idea to set aside at least 20 minutes a day to relax your mind and soothe your psyche. The more time you can devote; the better. Over time it will simply become habit and feel like a natural part of your day. <br />

All of these factors are essential to living a healthy lifestyle.  One aspect of healthy living that we often overlook though is our attitude.  Attitude is the perceptions and feelings we have about the world that affects how we behave.  Our attitudes can actually be a source of stress, if we<span id="more-8"></span> do not keep them in check.  Take some time to reflect on your attitude towards the world and your current living situation.</p>
<p>	Are you harboring resentment or have feelings of revenge?  There is nothing more stressing than having something personal against another person.  It can consume your thoughts and life.  Do you have a positive or negative outlook on the way your own life is going?  How you view your success and growth as an individual can be a direct factor in stress levels.  Finally, how is your outlook on the world as a whole?  Having a pessimistic view of people and the way things are can leave a person feeling hopeless and depressed.</p>
<p>	How can you change your attitude?  Choose to forgive.  When you forgive someone for something they did to you, it releases the hold they and the problem is having on your life.  Choose to think positively about your life.  Take steps to improve your life to where you want it to be.  Remember that happiness is a choice.  Choose to see the world as a good place and the gift of life as a blessing.  Having a positive outlook on life will do wonders for your stress levels. <p>You need to go to a quiet place where you can repose calmly for a small amount of time.  Get into a pleasurable spot so you can breath naturally and rest your muscles.  Shut your eyes.  You can play soothing easy listening music, light a fragrant candle, or burn<span id="more-7"></span> incense.  You can picture in your mind a serene scene of nature such as white clouds gliding by in a blue sky.  Or you can imagine lying in a hammock amid cooling breezes.  You can pretend to be a beauteous and graceful butterfly that sails over and under sweet scented flowers.   </p>
<p>Inhale and exhale deeply and deliberately.  As you inhale and exhale visualize you are breathing in tranquility that flows throughout your body.  As you exhale, visualize all the stress and disagreeableness is departing from you through your mouth and nose.  Create a mental image of the departure.  After breathing with this method, your stress should be  reduced.</p>
